The difference between a business email and a business letter:

  • Business email is in the form of soft copy while business letter is in the form of hard copy.
  • Business email is received faster than business letter.
  • Business email is less formal than business letter.

To: All staffs

From: Head of HR

Date: Wednesday, 25 May 2022

Subject: CPR training

A mandatory CPR training will be conducted on upcoming Friday at 3 pm. Please attend the training since it is mandatory.

Dont forget to send your name after the training by next friday.

Memo adalah pesan yang ditulis seseorang secara singkat, jelas, dan mudah untuk dipahami. Berdasarkan pemakaiannya, memo dapat bersifat resmi dan bersifat pribadi (tidak resmi). Memo bersifat resmi digunakan pada surat pernyataan dalam hubungan resmi dari seorang pimpinan kepada bawahannya. Sedangkan memo bersifat pribadi digunakan pada surat pernyataan tidak resmi antar teman, saudara, atau orang lain yang memiliki hubungan akrab.

Memo terdiri dari tiga bagian, yaitu:

  • Kepala memo berisi : nama, alamat , nama penerima.
  • Badan memo berisi : isi dari memo .
  • Kaki memo : berisi tanggal, nama dan paraf pembuat memo.
